A program that takes high school students from an idea in their head to a working project in C++. Ages 15–17 / Onsite Enrollment: Monthly — join any group, any month Overview Game Design at School & School is where logic meets imagination. Students learn to think in systems: how one decision ripples through a project, how an idea survives contact with real code, and why the best games are engineered as carefully as they’re imagined. The work sits at the crossroads of science, computing, engineering, mathematics, and design — and it prepares students for a future where those five things are rarely separate. Groups are limited to 6 students — small enough that every project gets real attention. A DIFFERENT KIND OF SCHOOL The goal of every class is to prepare students for what’s coming. Not by handing them answers, but by teaching them to face problems in science, computing, engineering, mathematics, and design — and work through them. Students are pushed to think critically about their own work: how their design should adapt, why a decision made in week two changes everything in week twenty, and how to build something that holds up when conditions shift. WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL DEVELOP – Mathematical competence– Scientific competence– Digital competence– Technological competence– Communication in a foreign language SKILLS – Advanced C++ programming– Game architecture and system design– Server administration and computing fundamentals– Analytical and critical problem-solving– Turning a vision into a structured project plan– Debugging and iterative improvement– Understanding cause and effect across a codebase– Independent project delivery More About the Program An interdisciplinary program for high school students, built to develop advanced analytical and critical thinking — and the ability to solve mathematical and logical problems of real complexity. The focus is on two things at once: developing a vision, and understanding how every individual action feeds into the final result. Students learn that a game is a chain of decisions, and that the quality of the last link depends on all the ones before it. Across the school year, students work through modern technology from two directions — computing and server administration on one side, advanced C++ programming on the other. More About the Program Effort and progress are tracked throughout the year. Students take short oral and written tests at the end of each month and each semester, and sit a final exam at the end of the school year. On passing, they receive a School & School certificate of attendance and successful completion. Programme Structure Program Details Program Game Design Age group 15–17 years Focus areas Game design, advanced C++ programming, server administration, analytical problem-solving Teaching method Project-based work, iterative development, individual project delivery Weekly class 2 hours (120 min + 5–7 min break) Monthly hours 8 hours (4 × 120 min) Course duration 8.5 months (September – June) or 4.5 months (February – June) Winter break January 1 – January 31 Group size Maximum 6 students per group, sorted by age and level Assessment Monthly and semester tests, final exam, School & School certificate Enrollment Open monthly — join a group any month.
